Kimberly Nuñez is a distinguished educator, instructional leader, and educational consultant with 25 years of experience dedicated to advancing educational excellence, inclusive practice, and the success of every learner. As President of SOFIE Cares, she brings a wealth of expertise in special education, curriculum development, instructional leadership, professional learning, and family engagement, championing educational opportunities that empower children, families, and educators alike.

A thoughtful practitioner and emerging scholar, Kimberly holds a Master of Education in Special Education and is pursuing her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Special Education. Her distinguished career has been recognized through multiple New Jersey Governor’s Excellence in Education Awards and several Teacher of the Year honors. At the heart of her leadership is a simple yet powerful conviction: every child deserves to be seen, valued, supported, and given the opportunity to flourish. Through SOFIE Cares, Kimberly continues to transform that conviction into meaningful action bridging research, education, advocacy, and community to create more inclusive and empowered futures for all learners.
